Don't let the tough-guy act fool you! They're friendly, lovable giants who just want to check out who's visiting. We know their size and enthusiastic greetings can be a little intimidating, especially for children, so don't be alarmed!

What began as a simple father-son project in 1977 has blossomed into a vibrant testament to creativity, community, and the enduring spirit of small-town America.
The journey of the World’s Largest Ball of Paint began on January 1, 1977, when Mike Carmichael allowed his three-year-old son to paint a baseball with blue house paint. This modest start ignited a passion that would span decades. Over time, the Carmichael family, along with countless visitors, added layer upon layer of paint, each contributing to the ball's growth and unique character.
Today, the ball has reached more than 30,000 layers of paint, weighs more than 13,000 pounds, and has a circumference of nearly 19 feet. Its size and weight necessitated the construction of a special "Ball House" equipped with an industrial-strength steel beam to support its increasing mass.
One of the most enchanting aspects of the World’s Largest Ball of Paint is its interactive nature. Visitors are invited to add their own layer of paint to the ball, choosing from a selection of colors provided on-site. After painting, each participant receives a certificate commemorating their contribution, allowing them to claim a small piece of this monumental artwork and sign the wall.
The attraction has garnered international attention, with visitors from over 100 countries contributing to its colorful history. The ball has been featured on platforms like Jimmy Kimmel Live and in publications such as Ripley’s Believe It or Not and the Guinness Book of World Records.
